UCR was founded in 1984 by Dr. Larry Gilderman and has successfully completed over 400 clinical trials (phase II-IV) in many therapeutic areas for the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Andrea Ramsay joined Dr. Gilderman as PI or Sub-investigator in 1999.
Our experienced staff consists of 3 full-time investigators, 9 full-time coordinators, quality assurance manager, 2 registered dieticians, regulatory administrator, 2 patient recruiters, coordinator assistant, and laboratory technician. Our CRCs work in TEAMS which offers cross-training and backup for each study. SOPs, weekly meetings, training, and quality assurance processes help trials run smoothly.
UCR is integrated with a large Family Practice/Internal Medicine practice (University Medical Center) which has 10,000 active charts. Both facilities are HIPAA compliant.
UCR has a large research database with 23,000 patient volunteers. With their approval, we contact these volunteers to offer them new studies as they become available. In addition to these efforts, we utilize strategic marketing to enhance recruitment. We have the space, staff, and experience to enroll large numbers of patients in a short time frame.
We use a patient tracking software (Clinical Conductor) to assist with patient scheduling and ensure that we stay within the windows allotted. This also allows us to track our research projects for future evaluation.
UCR has a culturally diverse patient base (35% Caucasian, 30% Hispanic, 30% African American, 5% other) because of our geographic location in South Florida. Many of the staff speaks Spanish which enhances our recruitment efforts.
UCR utilizes the services of a professional, central Institutional Review Board so we can quickly get projects started.

Sponsors and CROs come back to us time after time because they can rely on our site to initiate quickly, enroll the desired patients, follow the protocol, and provide clean data. |
